...This is an attempt to explain certain complex points taken up in my image-essay titled ‘Travels with Devdas’. Briefly, I have tried to highlight the fabrication of visual language and signs within popular cinemas, and ways in which such images constitute our memories and modes of story telling. I try to locate the historical trajectories of cinema and visual cultures, as well as the manner in which images travel in cinema. The method is not discursive, but analytical. I take P. C.
